Here it comes, the last days of Summer
Here it comes the very last days for me
To be driving ‘round this town
regarded as everybody’s favorite clown
Here it comes the last days for me, for me
Here it comes, the last days of Summer
Here it comes the very last days for me
To be driving in my car
it never really took me very far
Here it comes the very last days for me, for me
Well I’ve got a search light in my headlight
I’m looking for a place to go
And where I’m gonna end up hangin’ out
well baby, I just don’t know
Put a 50 in my gas tank
I’m gonna rev it ‘til it runs dry
And when I get to where I’m going baby,
don’t know if I’ll laugh or cry
Here it comes, the last days of Summer
Here it comes the very last days for me
Oh, I’m just sitting around baby, just a-waisting time
I’ll see you in the funny papershey baby, baby bye bye!
Here it comes, the last days of Summer
Here it comes the very last days for me
I’m leaving in the Midnight hour!

Just in time for the downhill side of the summer of 2009. "Last Days of Summer" written by Cosmic Billvis is given a great treatment by the band. A tip of the hat to the greats Wilson Pickett and Steve Cropper for the outro. But first there are two minutes of impromptu sonic tinkering. "Flying Waffles" is so named in reference to the Funk-N-Waffles in Syracuse where this was recorded. Commentary welcome.
